First Aid & CPR Utah
In Utah, residential settings that care for vulnerable adults and seniors — assisted living facilities, nursing homes and home health services — rely on certified nurse aides who can respond to a medical emergency. To keep residents safe, these settings expect their care staff to be trained in first aid and CPR.
Assisted living facilities, nursing homes (long-term care) and home health services; nurse aide training and registration run through the Utah Nursing Assistant Registry (UNAR/NATCEP), with facility standards in Utah Admin. Code R432.
Care staff working with residents are expected to be prepared for a cardiac or choking emergency. In Utah, First Aid and CPR are required as part of the nurse aide training program (UNAR/NATCEP), and only certified nurse aides may work in assisted living, home health and long-term care.
A recognized, up-to-date CPR and first-aid certificate is the way to meet this requirement; it is in addition to the aide's occupational training and must be renewed periodically.
我们严格遵循 ILCOR(International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation)的建议,该国际机构负责对全球复苏标准进行科学评估与制定。
